9.What does Tested for Nickel, Chromium and Cobalt, Without Preservatives, Without Perfume, Gluten Free mean?

BioNike has defined parameters within which to operate, carrying out a specific test on each production batch that allows monitoring the progress of production and any traces of nickel that may induce allergies.

Nickel Tested: We guarantee a trace nickel content of less than 0.1 ppm (0.00001%) for each production batch: a percentage 10 times lower than what is scientifically indicated as the threshold content that can cause an allergic reaction. In the case of BioNike Defense Color makeup products, in addition to nickel, other heavy metals such as cobalt and chromium are checked for the presence, again to ensure that their content is as low as possible. Since the removal of impurities is difficult to achieve especially in decorative cosmetics, in addition to the control of nickel, chromium and cobalt content (carried out in each production batch), each makeup formula is also tested to ensure that there is no metal release. by the cosmetic matrix (Test according to EC Regulation No. 1907/2006).

Therefore, the makeup products of the Defense Color line are formulated to minimize the presence of heavy metals such as nickel, chromium and cobalt which, even in residual contents, can create, especially in predisposed subjects, possible allergic reactions and sensitization.

No Preservatives: In BioNike products, special formulation strategies are developed (control of free water in the formula, osmotic systems) that replace traditional preservatives, while guaranteeing protection against microorganisms.

Fragrance-Free: To reduce the appearance of allergic reactions, BioNike decided to formulate fragrance-free cosmetics, selecting and evaluating the quality of the raw materials also from an olfactory point of view. In some products where it is necessary to add a perfume (to make it more pleasant to use), we use "special" perfumes carefully selected in relation to the content of potential allergens, that is, in which all 25 allergens can be present as maximum in infinitesimal traces and well below the limits indicated by the regulations.

Gluten Free: Scientific studies show that the presence of gluten in topical products can cause forms of skin intolerance and allergic reactions in predisposed subjects with an altered skin barrier or with "non-celiac gluten sensitivity."
The statement "contains no gluten or its derivatives" allows an informed decision for people with "non-celiac gluten sensitivity."
Therefore, all raw materials used in the products of the Triderm, Defense, Shine On and Proxera lines are carefully selected to exclude any source of gluten and each batch is analyzed to confirm the absence of gluten.
